About the Opportunity

Cormode & Dickson is currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in Edmonton on a full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll act as the key link between the Site Manager, General Manager and client while communicating accurate and detailed information to other internal team members.

This role will see you managing all project files and collaborating with both customers and the Cormode & Dickson team to complete buildings on time, on budget, under efficient resource allocation, and according to the proper specifications.

While no two days will ever be the same in this pivotal role, your more typical responsibilities will include:

  • Attending job start-up meetings before each project.
  • Applying for all licenses and permits before each project.
  • Reviewing and distributing all shop drawings for approval to ensure the schedule is maintained. 
  • Preserving overall project profitability and positive cash flow on each assigned project.
  • Supervising Site Managers and indirectly overseeing employees assigned to individual projects.
  • Analyzing financial data with the Site Manager as well as updating the owner on the project's progress.
  • Completing monthly reports on all projects, including any variance from budget.
  • Creating and updating project schedules as approved by the General manager and the contract administration. 
  • Coordinating with the Site Manager to ensure that subcontractors are assigned work and complete it on schedule. 
  • Working with the company health & safety manual and complying with its content.
  • Scheduling all site inspections in partnership with the Site Manager.
  • Maintaining the database of suppliers as well as managing the equipment's availability and tracking the delivery time.
  • Providing day-to-day leadership for the members of the project team as well as Sites Managers.  
  • Building the project turnover documentation during the project close-out.

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you'll need at least 15 years of experience along with a broad understanding of construction, especially low-rise buildings. You'll also need a bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant discipline. You'll also need to be proficient in various computer programs and software, including internet applications. Certified Red Seal Carpenters with construction management experience are also invited to apply. We may consider a differing mix of skills, experience, and education.
